Bellefontaine Ohio #20

Hello Family,

Sorry about the whole zombie thing it wasn't very nice, and it was not nice to mention your condition in that way. I love you just the way you are zombie or not. I'm glade to hear that your week went well and that you had some fun activities. Hope you have some fun in your new calling as assistant librarian in the Forest Grove 1st Ward. You all are getting involved in the church one way or another.

Well this week went well but sadly we were not able to have many lessons with investigators it just didn't happen. We also did a lot of good old knocking doors but not many people were interested so no new investigators from that. We however were able to have some really good lessons with less actives and this Sunday we had a large group of less actives that have not come in a long time. So the branch was really excited about that, in branches the best thing you can do is bring less actives back. As well as to find and baptize but less actives can be great finding activities because there friends are not members usually.

Anyway this one family we visited had a dog I really want to get when I get older and I will send you a picture of it. The Larsen's are a great family and Brother Larsen does high end wood work like cabinets and other wood work, his shop was very impressive. I love the members here because they are just great people they just got into some bad habits.

We are working with a family the Heaberlin's and they are great and they want to be baptized but  they have not come to church so we are working on that. They are very nice and have been meeting with missionaries for at least five years if not more but we will be seeing what there commitment level is. I hope they do feel that his is something they want and start progressing toward baptism. Anyway keep them in your prayers.

Love you all very much and hope you have a great week and that you stay safe. Tell Mike good luck for me. Have you been asked to give a talk yet about me on my mission yet? Anyway have a great week!

Hello Family,

Sounds like you had a great week and that you had a lot of exciting things happen. Mom working on a new quilt, dad at work, Emma dating and going to work. You are all very busy! I hope that you aren't all turning into zombies that do the somethings over and over. I guess I can't say anything my life probably changes less then yours what with the mission schedule. Ah life is life and we do what we have to.

This week was a good one as we were challenged by the President Daines to focus on finding as many people as we can and teaching lessons and extending baptism extensions. So we worked very hard on the goals that we set for our selves in those categories and strived so hard to achieve them. We however came up short but we worked very hard and we were very tired this last week. I had a lot of fun with this as we were knocking doors several hours a day as it gave Elder Anderson and I time talk.

Something that is cool that happened is that we learned about how this area is starting to get involved in a church program called Just Serve. It is a cool service program that will give us the opportunity to serve those who live in the areas we serve. It will give people a chance to see a different side of members. It will also give us missionaries another focus and to do service every day and to just be our selves. The told us that while we are out we are not to teach or to try and contact people but to just work and answer questions about the church if we are asked. The main focus is to make friends and if they are interested we set appointments to meet them at there homes.

Anyway that was our week and I am very excited to see how this new program will change how the church is viewed in this area. I think that it will open a lot of doors and let people see that we are normal people that care about our communities. I home that you have a good week and that you are all safe. Also take a look at just serve and see if you can serve in some way in Forest Grove or surrounding towns. Love you all and hope you know that I think about you a lot. Stay safe!

Elder Young and Elder Anderson being unhealthy and playing with knives :)

Bellefontaine #18

Hello Family,

Sorry for the lateness of the email this week but I have a good excuse and that is that we had a meeting yesterday. We met as a zone and President Daines taught us how to find contact more powerfully and to do it in a creative way. We get into one way of contacting and it's boring for us and for those we talk to. So Elder Anderson and I were called to stand in front of the zone and to role play contacting. It was fun and I took it seriously but I of course was my self and President Daines didn't say anything about me being goofy so I guess he approved. He asked me to do a lot more at his zone conference probably because I'm starting to be one of the older missionaries in the mission.

Weather has been a little cold this last week and it snowed a couple of inches for 3 days and I slide once and it was cool to lose control like that. I went sideways through an intersection but I got control pretty fast and made the turn with out getting close to anything. I almost hitting a deer on Monday night because it was really foggy but other than that it's been a good safe week. No need to worry😀

I can't really tell you what happened this week but that we worked hard and we try to meet with people but it doesn't always happen. We also had to park our car on Friday because we didn't send in our mile log on time. Luckily we had weekly planning and it took all day because of what President Daines has told us how he wants it done. Also it was really snowing that day so we would have been able to get anywhere fast especially because there are not many sidewalks in is town or anywhere in Ohio.

I don't what to say other than that it was a good week full of good lessons and I had a good time. I will have another meeting on Monday and I will have to email you on Tuesday again instead of Monday. This week we have a challenge by President Daines to accomplish some goals that he had us set for our selfs on Monday. So this week will be full of contacting people and getting new   Investigators. We have to give what he has dubbed "millennial moments", which means to give a one minute powerful lesson on a gospel principle. Which is what Preach my Gospel tells us to do when we contact or when we teach. To give brief powerful messages so that we don't lose attention and so that you can be out of a lesson in 44 minutes which is also a Preach my Gospel guideline which is a hard one to live.

I love you all and I hope you all stay safe and that none of you will get sick this week and that you all are safe at work. Hope you all have good missionary moments and that Emma has fun in the mini MTC. Always ask the missionaries how you can help them and keep them accountable by asking them who they are working with. Know that I love you and that I think of you often and your safety. Have a good week and I will talk to you on Tuesday.

Elder Young and his District having a good time :)

Bellefontaine Ohio #17

Hello Family,

Thank you for the package and the cookies that came in it were very much appreciated and loved. Elder Anderson's eyes almost popped out of his head when he say how many cookies you sent me. Anyway glad to hear that your week was normal and that nothing bad happen. My weather actually has just made a turn and it is snowing out side and the temperature is dropping, so later today we will have ice.

But today was a fun day because we had a district activity and I didn't have to plan it which was a bonus. What we did was we played a game called chair soccer which was a blast but man I am out of shape when it comes to running. Chair soccer is were you everyone has a chair that is your goal you have to defend. You can leave you chair and try and kick the ball into someone else chair then if you hit it they have to sit down. So I'm very tired.

This week we have been working hard to get Alexander, Christina, David, and Daisy to church. We were blessed and Alexander and Christina came but David's son oldest son went missing so that has been a little concerning. But we hope to continue to meet with them and that all goes well with David's son. We hope to continue to find new people to meet.

One thing that has been a hard thing that has come up is that Elder Anderson has been in a lot of pain and we have not found the cause. So we have been taking it easy and we may be going to a doctor soon to get some test run to find the problem. Keep in your prayers though because it has been very hard for him because if it doesn't get better fast or they have problems finding what's wrong he may have to go home. So keep him in your prayers please.

Lot of cool things happening and I am staying busy with doing what I know is right. Hope you have a great week and that you know I love you all and think about you often. You are my strength and you keep me going. The gospel has become my guide and my confidante and what gives me peace. The Atonement has become the biggest power in my life because I have no strength anymore I'm very tired. But the savior is my driving force that gives me the strength that I need because I make to many mistakes and have to many short comings to do what the lord wants of me. I know though that what I am doing is the will of our loving Heavenly Father and that as long as I go out of my apartment he will guide me. Turn to our savior and or lord because he will guide you and you will be surrounded by his love. Have a great week.

Hello Family,

Sorry that I forgot to tell you that this week was transfer week and that I would not be able to email till today. All is well over here and I will spend most likely one more transfer here with Elder Anderson. He is actually not done yet with his training yet he still has 4 more weeks of training and he will be good. Anyway glad to hear that you had a good week last week.

Our week was really good and we have been meeting a lot of nice people who are interested and are telling us to come back. So with luck we will be able to meet with them and teach them the Restoration. We have got several new investigators and we are excited to work with them and see them come closer to our Heavenly Father. One of new investigators is a son of a less active that will be fun to teach because he is very autistic but he wants to be baptized so we will do what we can. Our other new investigators are Alexander and Christina. They are a interesting couple but they are open and interested so we can't ask for more.

Last week we went to Columbus for what is called new missionary follow up training. It was fun and I got to talk to President Daines and we went to the temple which was really nice. Elder Anderson got a chance to go out and talk to people at OSU campus and hand out copies of the Book of Mormon. Really just a cool experience even though I was inside all day being trained. It's really just trainers follow up training.

I don't know what else to say other than I am happy that we are finally being blessed with new people to teach. It's been touch and go but we have been diligent in finding so we are seeing the benefits from that work. I love being here with Elder Anderson and love serving the lord. I hope that you all have a great week and that you stay safe. I will talk to you again on Monday, love you tons.
